Immortals

Warriors seize existence with fullness and fierceness. A line for the noble, the rough and tumble, and anyone seeking reinvigorated, energized, and unpolluted skin.

Named for the special forces of elite rank in the Persian army,
Once led through many battles by the great warrior princess Pantea,
Numbering 10,000 at all times in unified ranks always in legion,
Who for being unfallen were named The Immortals,
Of impenetrable creed and character.
Resolute, resilient, and strengthening. Ethos of a bygone era.

The ancient Persian Empire was one whose founders held deep reverence for nature and Mother Earth. Cyrus the Great, founder of the Persian empire, called his formal gardens paradisa, meaning “walled garden.” This word is one we still use today – paradise. King Cyrus was famous through the ancient world for his love of gardens. The Greek historian Xenophon wrote that “in all the districts that he [Cyrus] resides in, he takes great care that there are paradises, full of all the beautiful things that the soil will produce.” It was even said that Cyrus gardened himself; he told one Greek visitor, “the arrangement is my own work, I swear by the Sun God that I never sat down to dinner without first working at some task of gardening.”

Other texts attest to the special relationship between the Persian Kings and flora. During his march between Phrygia and Sardis, Greek historian Herotodus states that Xerxes “came across a plane tree of such beauty that he was moved to decorate it with golden ornaments and to leave behind one of his Immortals to guard it.” Imagine a vast and endless empire adorned in wealth and opulence – yet whose great Kings remain humbled by a single tree. Such is the noble history that inspires Persica Skincare to capture this heritage in our product formulations. To honor history brings greatness, but to honor both history and nature cultivates transcendence. The Immortals line recognizes this principled heritage with strengthening bioactive compounds, invigorating natural fragrances, and replenishing botanical essential oils.

At Persica Skincare, the strength of our product formulations is inspired by history and informed by science. The microbiome-fortifying strengths of Atlas cedarwood, cypress, eucalyptus, juniper berry, tea tree, rosemary, peppermint, clary sage, sandalwood, patchouli and myrrh essential oils provide soothing and cooling properties, and help to fight inflammation, relieve pain, detoxify impurities, and strengthen the epidermis. One test tube study on 247 different essential oil combinations found that myrrh oil mixed with sandalwood oil was especially effective at killing microbes that infect skin wounds. As an antiseptic and astringent, sandalwood essential oil helps to clean the pores and reduce inflammation from mild skin irritations. Clary sage essential oil exhibits a cooling property that soothes skin suffering from inflammation. It helps to calm rashes, balance the production of natural oil and sebum, and strengthen the skin and muscles. Cypress essential oil is a potent antibacterial, anti-microbial, anti-viral and astringent. The antioxidants in rosemary essential oil may help prevent wrinkles by stopping free radicals from breaking down the skin’s elasticity. One 2014 study found that as little as 10 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day showed significant results in reducing free radicals. To create the vibrant products in the Immortals line, we spare no expense – the Immortals Microbiome Defense Beard & Face Oil, for example, features five brilliant carrier oils and nine perfecting essential oils. Few skincare companies employ such depth and breadth of excellence in products made for men.
